Optimism Trust Community Aspirations
Here at OTCA , children, staff and the whole school community all uphold and embody our school values; Optimism, Trust, Community and Aspirations.
We have the highest aspirations for our children, nurturing and promoting their academic ability and well- being so that they are able to thrive and reach their fullest potential.
We aim to ignite and inspire our children’s talents and passions through providing them with rich experiences that help them not only develop their academic skills and knowledge, but also help them to acquire powerful knowledge that adds to their cultural capital. We do this through our curriculum that really does go beyond the classroom.
With curriculum enhancers such as educational trips, focusing on knowledge and understanding of events in the world and visitors to inspire our children, we are able to drive achievements and aspirations.
We are always very proud of the achievements of our children, and feel privileged to work within an excellent staff team who work tirelessly to support our children, both in class and through our wide range of extended support services.
Our school's aim is to provide a curriculum that prepares our children for their upcoming opportunities and experiences in life. Through delivering a broad curriculum, that is designed for our children in our unique context, our children can communicate their knowledge and apply their skills and importantly make progress at each step of their learning journey.
There is a shared vision of there being no ceiling to what pupils can do. Instead, the school teaches pupils about the doors that education can open for them. To this end, the school is doing much to raise aspirations.

Curriculum
Each academy within the Focus Trust uses the National Curriculum for England as the basis for planning their curriculum for pupils. This helps to ensure that all pupils receive a broad and balanced curriculum. The national curriculum includes English, mathematics, science, geography, history, music, art & design, computing, design & technology, languages, and physical education.
British Values
Each academy has designed and personalised their curriculum to ensure that it meets the distinctive needs of their pupils. The curriculum is designed to equip pupils for later life in modern Britain. As part of the curriculum, each academy actively promotes the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
Tolerance and respect
As a state-funded British school, we actively promote tolerance or, and respect for, all people – regardless of faith, culture, lifestyle or background.
Equality
Each academy in the Focus Trust is fully compliant with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010.
