Remote Education
During the Covid 19 pandemic, it is important that we are able to respond quickly to the need to move to remote education. This may be for individuals, groups or the majority of the school community.
Remote education
During this unprecedented period, individuals or groups may need to isolate for periods. During this time they will need to continue their education remotely. Please work with us to continue your child’s learning during these periods. Follow the link below for more details of how OTCA will provide and support remote education.

Home learning
Home learning is probably better known as “homework”. It is an ongoing expectation for all children whether or not they are attending school. We have adapted our home learning arrangements to help maintain Covid Secure practice. Every child has two home learning packs. They should always have one at home, and one at school. Packs should be returned and exchanged every Friday.

General information
Although school is now fully open, it is important that we have plans in place to support remote learning. During this unprecedented period, individuals or groups may need to isolate for periods. Please work with us to continue your child’s learning during these periods.
Paper-based learning
Every child should always have an updated paper-based pack of activities at home, through our ongoing home learning system. In the event of a sudden closure or isolate, this should be viewed as a starter pack whilst individual on-line learning systems are put in place.
On-line learning
Children’s learning for the day will be posted online on Weduc, which is our Parent App.
Some activities posted on line will be for completion on paper, and may refer to the contents of the home learning pack.
Other activities should be completed on line. The activity may be posted in full on Weduc, or there may be a link to elsewhere e.g. to DB Primary.
Please mark all tests as “DONE” on Weduc once they have been completed. You may also be asked to submit your work electronically.
Supporting on-line learning
We have some devices that can be loaned during periods of isolation. We are currently putting loan agreements in place where we are aware that these are needed. Please contact school if you would like to discuss a short term loan. Where demand exceeds the number of devices available, devices will be allocated in the following priority order:
1. Vulnerable children required to isolate (defined by the DFE as children with a social worker, or children who have an Education, Health and Care Plan
2. Disadvantaged children required to isolate (defined as being eligible for Pupil Premium)
3. Other children required to isolate
Keeping in touch
We will contact your family regularly during isolation to discuss your child’s learning.
