Physical Education (PE)

At OTCA, we want our children to enjoy being active and to appreciate the physical, social and mental health benefits of an active life-style now and in their future. We promote a love of being active and a lifelong, positive attitude towards it. We help them to understand how physical activity can support them in all areas of their lives including learning about and understanding their bodies and emotions. We aim to foster a love of sport, to get involved as leaders, promoting fair play and following rules. We want them to develop a healthy approach to competition where they can take part, win or lose, enjoy the experience and feel confident and positive about having been part of it. At OTCA, we believe that children learn and develop in so many ways in PE and not just physically but emotionally and socially too. By the end of year 6, we want our children to have developed an interest in and a love of physical activity so when they leave us they search out opportunities to continue at high school and in the community.
